We started this journey in August of 2013 when the criminalization of homelessness was unanimously approved by the Columbia City Council in South Carolina. Thankfully, due to the outcry in the community, it made the city re-think their decision and in September 2013, they reversed their unanimous vote to criminalize the homeless. The criminalization of homelessness has become a statute in over 100 cities across America and is still growing. This documentary depicts the future of homelessness as being a crime.
Criminalization of homelessness means go to a shelter, get out of town or be at-risk of going to jail if caught on the streets.
In “No Address,“ you will get to know some humans from the homeless community who survive day to day by banishment, abandonment, harassment, ridicule and institutionalism all while keeping their sanity to live another day. In this new era of American society, stereotypes of homelessness no longer exist.
Our SOLUTION is to obtain land and to build a community for the homeless population to include permanent travel homes and organic farming so they will have a sustainable income through agriculture. We will provide all types of resources and training to educate them through the process. This will be the catalyst for what WE can do in other communities.
